When the NDA exam held every year?

How To Apply for NDA Examination

  • Application Form for NDA 2019 will available online from 10th January 2019 (for NDA-I) and 6th June 2019 (for NDA-II) on the official website of NDA i.e. http://www.upsc.gov.in.
  • NDA Exam Registration will be done in two sections:
    • In the Part-I of the Registration, the candidate gives their basic details.
    • In the Part-II of the Registration, candidates have to select their exam, and upload the documents required like photograh and signature. After that you will pay the final payment of your examination.
  • The images required for the Part-II registration should be in JPG format
    • Photograph (3KB – 40KB)
    • Signature (1KB – 40KB)
  • Note: No correction or Edition facility provided after the final submission of the NDA application form.
  • Print your application form after the final registration process and keep it to you.

Application Fees:

  • The application fees for the NDA application form is Rs. 100/-
  • Candidates belong to the SC/ST Categories are exempted from the payment of application fee.
  • Payment Methods for the NDA (National Defence Academy) Application Form:
    • Online Payment Mode:
      • SBI Net Banking.
      • Credit Card.
      • Debit Card.
    • Offline Payment Mode:
      • E-Challan of SBI Bank.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality:
    • The appearing candidate should be a citizen of India, Bhutan or Nepal.
    • A Tibetian refugee cam to India with a mindset to become a resident of India permanently before 1 January 1963 are also eligible.
    • An Indian person who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the aim of permanent settlement in India are also eligible to apply.
  • Age Limited, Gender & Marital Status:
    • For NDA-I 2019: The candidates born after 2nd July 2000 and before 1st July 2003 are eligible for NDA(I) 2019 examination.
    • For NDA-II 2019: For NDA-I 2019: The candidates born after 2nd January 2001 and before 1st January 2004 are eligible for NDA(II) 2019 examination.
    • Only Unmarried Candidates are not eligible for NDA Examination. Candidates should not marry until they complete their full training.
    • Note: Girls are not allowed for the NDA Examination.


  • Education Qualification:
    • Eligibility For Indian Army: 
      • Candidates want to apply for Indian Army must have passed 12th or equivalent examination from a well-recognized board.
      • The candidates appear in the class 12th can also apply for NDA examination.
    • Eligibility For Indian Navy And Air Force:
      • Candidates want to apply for Indian Navy and Air Force must be passed the 12th examination from a well-recognized board or University with the combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
      • The candidates that are appeared in 12th class can also apply.

Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically and mentally fit according to the physical standards maintained by the National Defence Academy and Naval Defence Academy 2019.

The common defects by which you’ll get rejected further are listed below:

  • Defects
    • Wax (Ears).
    • Deviated Nasal Septum.
    • Hydrocele/Phimosis.
    • Overweight/Underweight.
    • Under Sized Chest.
    • Piles.
    • Tonsillitis.
    • Gynaecomastia.
    • Varicocele.
  • Body Tattoos: 
    • Permanent body tattoos are allowed only on the inner side of a forearm.
    • All Tribes with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on custom terms and conditions.
  • Height & Weight Standards Requirement:
    • The minimum height measurement required for Air Force is 157 cms.
    • For Gorkhas and any individuals belongs who are belongs to hills of the North-Eastern areas of India, form Garhwal, and from Kumaon, the minimum heights required will be 5 cms. less.
    • In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height of the candidate can be relaxed by 2 cms.

NDA Exam Pattern 2019

Candidates who will appear in the NDA examination should check the exam pattern and syllabus before appearing in the examination. The detailed information of NDA(National Defence Academy) 2019 exam pattern is mentioned below:

  • Type of Questions:All the questions are objective type questions.
  • Pattern:OMR Sheets are provided for answering the questions.
  • Mode:The exam will be conducted in the pen and paper-based mode.
  • Answering Mode:You can only use the black ball pen for highlight the answers on OMR sheet.
  • Duration:2 1/2 hours will be given for each code, i.e. Code-1 is for (maths) and Code-2 is for (general ability test).
  • Language:The medium of the exam will be set bilingually in English as well as Hindi.
  • Negative Marking: For your one wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
